National Senior Certificate (NSC) matric class of 2021 generally pass rate remains at 76.4 percent.
Priest of Basic Education and Training, Angie Motshekga, says this is an improvement of 0.2 percent from 2020.
The Free State is the main region at 85.7 percent.
Gauteng scored a 82.8 percent pass rate, down 1.0 percent from 2020.
The Western Cape scored 81.2 percent, an improvement of 1.3 percent from 2020.
The matric class of 2021 confronted many difficulties, including the continuous impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic
In declaring the pass rate, Motshekga said: "It is critical to remind the country that for the beyond 10 years, the NSC [National Senior Certificate] pass rates have reliably been increasing by from 60% in 2009, to above 70% lately. The Class of 2021 should be complimented for keeping up with this pattern, in spite of the cosmic difficulties they confronted."
