Local government elections are over, but there are still killings going on in places like KwaZulu-Natal, even though they aren't over yet. Sabc news said the following:
"Sabc News and Sabckzn Minenhle Mkhize, an EThekwini council member from ward 103, was killed last night in a car accident. They are at Mkhize's house in Cliffdale, which is west of Durban."
As of right now, it isn't clear why this local government council was shot and killed. The full family hasn't yet told the whole storey, but it's sad to see that people are still being killed for being politically minded. Many people think it has something to do with taxis, but there is no proof of that.
I think it is very sad when you see real politicians die in this kind of way. It makes the young people in South Africa feel like they won't be able to do anything about politics because they think they might end up like them.
It's time for the government to do a better job protecting the lives of politicians, so that even bright young people don't have any reason to stay away from politics. Young people will be afraid to get into politics if this keeps up. They don't want to just lose their lives.
