President Cyril Ramaphosa's announcement to move the country to lockdown level one was music to the ears members of the Radical Economic Transformation faction in the ANC who will now go out in their numbers to support their RET champion ahead of his court appearance.
Ace Magashule who is currently suspended from the ANC over corruption charges he is facing emanating from the Free State asbestos tender worth R255 million will appear at the Bloemfontein High Court in Free State province on the 19th of October.
The RET forces circulating the posters with the information of Ace Magashule's court appearance said on the 19th of October 2021 Magashule will come to address the masses that will be there to support him outside the court and they expect to hear what he has to say concerning ANC and the local government elections.
"Our Manifesto will be coming on the 19th October 2021, Ace Magashule will be appearing in court and he will come to address the masses that will be there to support him," they said.
Magashule is currently banned from participating in ANC's activities which means he is also not campaigning ahead of the local government elections for the party.
The suspended secretary general of the ANC however argued that the charges he is facing are flimsy and are politically motivated to paralyze his political career so as to give Cyril Ramaphosa a free ticket to run for a second term unchallenged.
Although some think that Ace Magashule has now become a distant memory, to his RET forces he remains a champion and they are vowing to keep on supporting him till the end.
There is also disgruntlement on how the step aside clause seem to be applied along the factional lines, as some comrades who are in the right faction of the ANC have not stepped aside besides being implicated in corrupt activities.
