"What Absolute Rubbish" Cyril's Ally Fumes

ANC NEC member and a staunch supporter of president Cyril Ramaphosa, Derek Hanekom has hit back at the report that the president and his inner circle want the next ANC conference to be close to the Ruperts.

Speculations had it that Cyril Ramaphosa and his very close backers were plotting to have the conference in the Western Cape in order to distance the delegates from "external factors to convince them".

ANC conferences are usually held in venues that are surrounded by hotels and entertainment venues for delegates and some branch members who may not make it as delegates at the conference.

Derek Hanekom said the allegations that Cyril Ramaphosa and his inner circle are tipping for the conference to be held in Western Cape is absolute rubbish as it is not true.

Hanekom is one of Cyril Ramaphosa's allies who are confident that if Ramaphosa contests for a second term he will definitely win.

"What absolute rubbish. The worst part is that you actually know that it is untrue," he said.

While the RET faction is fighting tooth and nail to paralyze Cyril Ramaphosa ahead of the party's elective conference, Cyril Ramaphosa got a boost after Royal leaders in Limpopo threw their weight behind him to contest for a second term as head of the party, as they place their faith in his abilities to foster unity within the organisation.

Hosi Tinyiko Nwamitwa of the Valoyi clan said she had been supporting Ramaphosa even before the party celebrated its birthday in Polokwane. She said she knew what Ramaphosa was capable of, hence he should be given more time to steer the country in the right direction.

Some however believe that even though they are supporting Ramaphosa to lead ANC again the party should be working to groom someone to take over from him in future.
