The importance of refugee camps in every country cannot be over emphasized. Building refugee camps is one of the sure ways to help coordinate the affairs of refugees while they stay in their country of asylum.
In South Africa, we have seen a coexistence between local citizens and refugees who are most times undocumented and this is currently contributing to most of the crime we see today in the country.
A South African man who is often known for speaking up on Issues of national importance KingJosh has taken to Twitter to remind our government about the importance of building refugee camps.
He claimed that refugees are received into our country without given where to stay. He also added that they are thrown into different communities to fend for themselves which has led to a serious competition between these people and local citizens.
According to his exact statement on Twitter:
"Refugee camps are necessary in the country. Refugees are received in the country but are not provided with places to stay. They are just thrown into communities to fend for themselves and fight for meagre resources with locals, hence the land grabs, electricity theft, crime."
