The political climate in South Africa is chaotic. All of South Africa's opposition parties are banding together to oust President Cyril Ramaphosa from office and bring him to justice for his alleged role in the Phala Phala farm robbery. Nonetheless, Ramaphosa appears to retain some supporters who are content with a power vacuum.
On August 17th, the Economic Freedom Fighters released a statement announcing a press conference for parliamentary opposition parties. The EFF claims this move was the result of months of planning sessions wherein methods for holding Ramaphosa accountable for the Phala Phala farm robbery scandal were discussed. As far as the EFF is concerned, Malema will be the one to represent them.
EFF supporters applauded those who disagreed with this. As a matter of fact, one person named Justin Dumela has stated publicly that they will accept no one other than Ramaphosa. According to Justin, "No explanation was necessary, as it is already well known that Malema will represent the EFF in this capacity. Having Ramaphosa around is preferable to having any of you, so he won't be leaving anytime soon. Wasters and parasites ".
The high unemployment rate, high cost of living, and high crime rate are all things that people blame Ramaphosa for. It's not certain that things will get better if he's removed from office. The veracity of the claims made against him have also not been determined. That's why it might be a bad idea to remove him from the situation.
There is no clear candidate to take over as president, even if the opposition parties want him gone. Neither the DA nor the EFF are in control. In all appearances, their plan to have Ramaphosa deposed is nothing more than a ploy to win over voters to their party.
