Naledi Pandor explains why SA "cannot be seen to take sides

Russia-Ukraine: Naledi Pandor explains why SA "cannot be seen to take sides."

South Africa cannot be seen as taking sides in the conflict following Russia's invasion of Ukraine, as this would be contrary to the country's principles.

The situation is unclear and could escalate into conflict, Nalidi Pando writes. [South Africa]

[South Africans] SA responds to Russia-Ukrainian conflict: "We should not let these tensions persist." This is SA's position and a position South Africans have held consistently, even when circumstances have changed.

We will continue to do so in this situation. This conflict will not be resolved peacefully, and we cannot allow Russia to be able to dictate the outcome, Pandor adds.

"The best way to resolve this conflict is with peace and co-existence. No country should be allowed to interfere in another country's internal affairs." [Ibrahim]

[South African News] South African Foreign Minister Hlengiwe Mzabane says Russia's invasion and occupation of Crimea is a serious issue that must be dealt with properly.
