The ANC made a wrong turn down on the N3 freeway in Howick on Sunday and the wrong person witnessed the mistake.
The Democratic Alliance mayor of urgent witnessed the wrong turn and the ANC members were not ready to see his face. The ford ranger from Moses Mabhida Region in Pietermaritzburg was easily identified by its ANC colors and it tried to illegally reverse on the N3 on-ramp in Howick. The DA mayor had fun while he made a video of the vehicle reversing and he tweeted it on Twitter. In the video, he also wrote that they welcome the ANC at uMngeni as it is a free country for all to participate in all political activities. Pappas continued to say they kindly ask them to obey the rules of the road and stop reversing down the ramp.
The driver of the vehicle missed the turnoff for the destination of the party for a provincial event to mark 8 January which is the ANC's birthday. As many of us know that freeways have turned off in certain areas and once one misses it could come back a very long way. The ANC's driver's only option was to reverse slowly using the yellow line. The tweeted message was the best joke for Twitter users as they shared many jokes using the clumsy driver's mistake. They described the incident with the fact that the ANC is well skilled in reversing. They have perfected reversing to an absolute science and even an art form over their tenure of 28 years, all in the name of progress. Another twitter laughed and said the ANC has been reversing the country for the past few years.
Andrew Gerber also tweeted and said that the party knows how to do it backward. The ANC would have not wanted to see the DA mayor Pappas as he spent the whole of last week sparring with ANC MEC Jomo Sibiya over the rollout of aid for flood victims in uMngeni. He was accused of trying to turn uMngeni into a no-go area for other political parties but into his fiefdom.
