A bad update was given regarding 200 000 Zimbabwean nationals who were reportedly made to return to Zimbabwe from the neighbouring countries.
Its highlighted that the bad news regarding these more than 200 000 Zimbabwean nationals is that they lost their jobs and got deported from the countries such as South Africa and Botswana.This is reported to be the estimated number of affected people since the lockdown.
These revelations are reported to have been made by Mario Lito Malanca from the International Organisation for Migration. Mario said said the more than 200 000 was the number of returnees since March 2020 after the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic.
He added that the immigrants returned to the same places which forced them to leave for greener pastures .
It was highlighted that the returnees do not have livelihoods which can help sustain them.He went on and highlighted that they were helping the returnees .
It was added that there must be additional measures in place which will help the returnees with adjusting to the Zimbabwean conditions.
