Now that the water in the mighty Limpopo River has subsided, the criminals have started with their illegal activities of undermining the sovereignty of South Africa.
The South African Defense Forces have intercepted four boat worth R 10 000.00 and also arrested undocumented persons who were in one boat. They also confiscated R 838 963.00 worth of illicit cigarettes at Yellow Gate on the Northern side of Musina Town.

On the Western side of Musina Town, soldiers confiscated illicit cigarettes valued at R 301 299.00 after the criminals abandoned their car and run back into Zimbabwe.
The issue of illicit cigarettes smuggling has long been discussed in the corridors of the highest power and there are allegations that it also involves senior South African Politicians.

By avoiding duty payments at official points of entry the smuggling kills our local farmer who can't compete with good quality but also cheap Zimbabwean tobaccos being sold in spaza shops.
