Mmusi Maimane got Lambasted by people after he criticized Dudu Zuma

Many black South Africans saw the previous president of the Democratic Alliances' move to DA as a betrayal of their interests by partnering with whites. Even if there were others who stood by him, he used to face constant criticism.

Last night, Mmusi Maimane found himself in a muddy pool, on the wrong side of black South Africans, despite the fact that he is no longer president or a member of the Democratic Alliance.

After Duduzile Zuma compared former Public Protector of the Republic of South Africa Advocate Thulisile Madonsela to a gorilla or baboon, Mmusi Maimane attacked her with all guns blazing.

Many South Africans spoke out in defense of Duduzile Zuma after she was labeled a racist by opposition leader Mmusi Maimane. They pointed out that Zuma's own father, former president Jacob Zuma, had suffered the same sort of public shaming but that Maimane had never called those responsible for it racist.

"You can rule out racism for good here. Don't make it easy for whites to generalize about black racism. Dudu made racist comments about Thuli, which is unacceptable."
