ANC Doesn't want independent candidates for National elections

There have been calls from different angles that the independent candidates should now allowed to contest for National elections. Currently they are allowed to contest on the local government elections.

Many people seems have lost trust on the political organizations and they want independent candidates to run for presidential seat.

The African National Congress (ANC) doesn't want independent candidates to contest national elections from more than one province.

According to the founder and president of the United Democratic Movement, ANC is scared of some of its members who are currently disillusioned, that they might contest elections as independents thereby depriving them of more seats.

Having independent candidates is a great thing but it comes at a cost. What happens is, some constituents will end up being governed by a single individual or family making it hard for new comers to contest. corruption will rise that good views will be replaced with money.
