EFF chief Julius Malema says his friendship with former Ekurhuleni mayor Mzwandile Masina — who did not secure a 2d term when EFF councillors voted for a DA candidate after hung effects inside the current nearby authorities polls — has no situations connected approximately supporting each different politically.

“Our friendship has never been based totally on voting for each different. He never voted for me after I was inside the ANCYL. He desired Lebogang over me but that did not have an effect on our friendship.
“If he's the one who isn't voted for and it affects our friendship, then so be it. In our friendship engagements we've got in no way stated we're going to vote for every other to stay friends. There is no such arrangement.”
In Malema’s world, he said, being buddies even as in the political space does now not mean you're guaranteed each other's assist.
“I do not work on friendship. These comrades, lots of them are my friends, but if we come to political problems in which we do not locate every different, I am going to disagree as it is not friendship. It is political and needs to be political all of the time.”
