ANC Bigwig Mabuza To Challenge Cyril For Presidency? See This

A banner appearing on social media purports to announce that David Mabuza's presidential campaign has begun. A few months back, several ANC members in Mpumalanga declared they wanted Mabuza to be president.

The ANC veteran known in political circles as "the cat" stated that Cyril Ramaphosa was the president and that he did not want to challenge him. Critics concur, however, that Mabuza is intelligent and may have been testing the waters when he asked ANC colleagues in Mpumalanga if they wanted him to be president.

Mabuza, who threw Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma under the bus at the 2017 Nasrec conference by joining Cyril Ramaphosa's side at the eleventh hour, is believed to be unpredictable and not to be underestimated in terms of underground support mobilization.

It is unclear which faction of the ANC David Mabuza presently belongs to. He seems to want to be impartial, but ANC politics is not like that; one must adhere to a faction to garner the necessary support to obtain positions, especially during national conferences such as the one in December.

Phumzile Van Damme, a former member of the Democratic Alliance, responded to the billboard claiming that Mabuza will run for president by stating, "The black cat has entered the building." Is his name listed?

Some contended that this is a "hoax" because the ANC has never had a president who served for only one term. Could it be that David Mabuza's ambition in challenging Cyril Ramaphosa for the president in December is excessive?
