OPINION| The ANC president must take action against the police minister for what he did to a citizen

I will be very surprised if the State President will master the courage of demoting the Police Minister who not only brought shame to the Police Service, but also brought its good name into disrepute after all it is this State President who against good advice, not only promoted Arthur Frazer by even giving a glowing positive affidavit that made his a saint, it is this State President who protected Zizi Kodwa, David Mahlobo despite evidence of improprietyIt is the same State President that continues to keep Ministers Gwede Mantashe and Thabang Makwetla in their ministerial positions despite their own testimonies at the Zondo Commission and the subsequent adverse reports that allege their complicity in criminality, it is indeed the President of the ANC who failed to reign in his organization when it proposed the name of Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula as a Speaker of our National Parliament, despite her poor performance as Minister of Defense the very Minister who used our SANDF aeroplane as a taxi to transport ANC officials to Zimbabwe, it is the very Minister that could not explain Government's failure to pre-empt the so-called July unrests he had all the opportunity to fire her, but he didn'tBut we should not forget that foremost in the program of the State President was the illusive unity of the ANC. Of course, Bheki Cele is a very important player in ensuring that he gets the second ANC presidential term because he will deliver the crucial KZN vote to secure his second term. All this at the expense of the country at the cost of the economy, the national security, healthcare, education and social services I will not, at this juncture talk about Zweli Mkhize and the fraud and corruption that happened under the stewardship of our State PresidentIt is my considered view that the time for simply supporting leaders because they brandish revolutionary theories struggle credentials and empty slogans, is over we have to examine those theories against our tangible benefits as a nation political theory that destroys our institutions is nothing but a betrayal. We need leaders that are not only committed to the improvement of the plight of the majority of the people, but leaders who can clearly articulate their aspirations and not their own
