Mokatsane later apologized, but it was too late as social critics are fuming and calling for his dismissal for such a disgraceful behaviour.
"We as black people we are violent, and suffering violence on everything. That's why I said violence is related to us on everyday basis," he said after using the K-word to refer to black people.
ANC veteran, Carl Niehaus questions whether this is what the new dawn has delivered to South Africa that some ANC leaders are still using the K-word to refer to black people.
He said this mayor was supposed to have be kicked out following this incident, along with other mayor's in the Free State who have now become immune to stepping aside because they belong to the right camp.
"Hmmm, in addition to Mayor Mokatsane, who recklessly uses the ‘k’ word, and gets away with a limp apology, there are a string of thuma mina, new dawn mayors in the Free State who are immune to stepping aside. Is that what the new dawn stands for: selective impunity?" Niehaus inquired.
Some critics who know what is happening in in Free State province, said the premier in that province is worse off and should have stepped down long time ago.
"He must step down, we don't have a leader here. I can't believe this is happening under the new dawn," some stated.
Those who are fed up with ANC as an entire movement argue that South Africans should just stop debating on who is better than the other in the ANC.
They cite that the truth is the entire ANC is messed up, and they shouldn't be still leading the country after all the mess they created in 28 years of them being in power.
