"We're Truly Lucky To have Cyril As Our President" - Ramaphosa Praised By Hanekom

Do we have any better options for a national leader than Cyril Ramaphosa? One of the President's allies' sons has made that claim.

Bram Hanekom, son of NEC member Darek Hanekom, has come out in full support of President Ramaphosa, saying that the country is very lucky to have someone of his caliber as the head of state since he is so conscientious about doing things by the book.

"Let me repeat that: Cyril Ramaphosa is a tremendous asset to our nation in the presidency. To the corrupt, he is an enemy because he is a man of process "According to what Hanekom tweeted under his official handle.

Since the PhalaPhalaGATE controversy came to light, even low-profile ANC members like Hanekom have felt the need to publicly show their support for the President.

Even while the appropriate authorities are still looking into the matter—processes that the President himself gave the green light to—adversaries Ramaphosa's have already decided that he is guilty of a plethora of violations.

It's important to remember that the President has always been viewed as someone who is not afraid to face accountability.

Some of Hanekom's supporters, however, agree wholeheartedly with his views that the President has greatly cracked down on corrupt forces in the country, and hence there is a determined campaign to bring him down.

Although some applaud the President's commitment to transparency, others see his decision to keep his CR17 bank statements private as hypocritical.

By this logic, Ramaphosa may have inherited a country with numerous socioeconomic challenges, and if we're being completely honest, he hasn't done much to change the trajectory of the nation deserving of any praise, especially in light of the reactions from a society that appears to be polarized along factional lines.

But he definitely succeeded in rescuing the ANC and the country's spirit from corrupt individuals whose only goal was to empty the national coffers.
