Warning to all SASSA beneficiaries

Source: Twitter

We have been told that the applicants of the R350 SRD grants have until November 30th to claim their grants from the first cycle. And the South African Social Security Agency took to their Twitter account to deliver the last warning reminder to those who have not yet claimed theirs.

I have a feeling that since they have started giving out the reminders, it means that the time will not be extended, and thus this might mean that there are those who will lose on this for real. This only leaves South Africans with one choice, which is to go and claim this grant as they are left with only 3 days to do so.

It was revealed to us in October by the SASSA official Twitter account that approved applicants of the special COVID-19 SRD grant, whose unclaimed money from the first round of the award was set to be forfeited on August 31, 2021, can still reclaim their unclaimed cash at the post office, SASSA stated in a statement.

The Minister of Social Step, Lindiwe Zulu, made this crucial development possible by issuing Ministerial Directions, which were just published. Beneficiaries with unclaimed funds have until November 30, 2021, to retrieve them. Payments that are not withdrawn by the end of November 2021 by any beneficiary will be forfeited to the state to finance other government objectives.

My own point of view here is that why are they saying it will fund other government objectives while there are R350 SRD beneficiaries who have not yet received the money since they applied and were approved?

I strongly say that at least the money should be given to those who are really in need of it because those who do not claim it prove to be not in need of it.

What is your take on this matter? Do you agree or disagree with me?

Please share the article with others out there.
