Sassa provides clarity for those who are not receiving their funds

According to the South African Social Security Agency, the non-payment reasons fluctuate from applicant to applicant. Some have delivered false bank details/contact numbers if they chose the cash send selection. Others keep updating their bank details, which in turn delays their payments. Below are some of the complaints people had about SASSA

Sharon: Unfortunately, our local post office REFUSES to issue the Covid Grant!! I've been trying to assist a friend for months!!!! I've phoned your offices and you can't assist?!! So what do you suggest?

Kabelo: You say people should be patient. But please do explain how you approve three months without any pay dates. When would patience be enough? 6 months of waiting?

From Amanda: What an inappropriate statement-it’s not a Christmas gift! People are entitled to that money by law, and they are not receiving it because your system does not work. After all, SAPO is falling apart. After all, you are not communicating with beneficiaries.

The venom: When are you approving the reconsideration outcome it's been almost 3 months pending? And, in the previous cycle, I had to wait an entire week to receive this money, only to have it denied again on reconsideration.

Marin: Thank you. Some people are being turned away from the Post Office. They tell approved applicants to go to home affairs to get a card ID and not to use the ID book.

Phumlani: I need help My daughter, Sassa, did not have an ID at that time, so she used a birth certificate to apply. She used a birth certificate to claim the money for the first month.

Bongani: My Little Sister has an approved status for 3 months with no pay date. Then, we realized we had made a mistake with banking details and selected savings instead of a cheque account. I sent you a DM. Please reply.
