The R350 social relief of distress (SRD) award will not be paid by the SA Post Office (Sapo) next week since the week is allocated for the payment of old age, child, and disability benefits. Sapo stated that SRD award recipients can begin visiting post offices on October 11.
Sapo announced payment dates for all of its offices on Tuesday, but not for Pick n Pay, Spar, and Boxer locations, which recently began accepting SRD payments. Beneficiaries who have their ID numbers and communication from the SA Social Security Agency (SASSA) verifying their collection information can get their payments at these supermarkets.
SASSA is still receiving applications for SDR awards as well as inquiries about applications that have been denied. The organization said on Tuesday that some candidates are turned down for the award if it is discovered that they have other sources of income during the verification process. People who got the award despite this must repay the money received from the agency.
“You are regarded as a debtor if the auditor-general’s findings indicate you have other sources of income and Sassa previously paid you when you did not qualify. It is expected the client should pay back as cited in section 10.1 of the ministerial directions,” Sassa said.
This is when you may pick up your authorized R350 award at a post office accoeding to your (Identity) ID number:
