According to the SA Social Security Agency, those who asked that their failed Covid-19 R350 social assistance distress award applications be reassessed might expect a delay in the process (Sassa). The agency said on Wednesday that the R350 grant reconsideration application had been postponed. The agency provided no explanation for the delay but stated that it was trying to remedy the situation.
"Clients who requested reconsideration have been notified of the delay in processing their requests. Sassa is presently trying to rectify this," the company stated. Sassa revealed the reconsideration option earlier this month after several social media users complained that their application had been canceled without reason. Applicants who have been refused for any time and have no income for the next month, according to Sassa, can apply for reconsideration.
Those who are having difficulty submitting the application can contact 0800 601 011 for assistance."If a client's application is denied, the client has the right to request reconsideration within 30 days of obtaining the reason for the rejection. Clients must request reconsideration for each month that their application is denied," Sassa explained. According to Sassa, the causes for nonpayment vary from application to applicant.
"If they choose the cash transfer option, some supplied incorrect bank details/contact numbers." Others constantly change their bank information, which causes their payments to be delayed. "You may follow your accepted payments by sending us a direct message with your ID number," Sassa explained.
