Symptoms That Show You Might Be Expecting Twins
What Are the Earliest Signs of Being Pregnant with Twins
Is there such a thing as being twice as pregnant? As you begin to experience pregnancy symptoms, you may wonder whether having stronger symptoms means something — are there signs you’re having twins? Is it normal to be this exhausted and this nauseous, or could it mean something more?

Many people who experience twin pregnancy report that they had a sense or feeling that they were expecting multiples, even before they knew for sure. On the other hand, for many people, the news comes as a complete surprise.
The following symptoms are commonly reported as signs that you may be pregnant with twins, from the earliest weeks of pregnancy.
Signs you’re having twins or multiples
Extreme fatigue might be a sign that you're carrying twins, but being super tired during pregnancy can also be caused by things like a normal singleton pregnancy, stress, a hectic work life, and a lot of responsibilities. Although it's possible, extreme fatigue early on doesn't necessarily mean that you're definitely carrying twins.

Other early signs of a twin pregnancy can include a greater appetite (which includes that extra weight gain), "showing" earlier in pregnancy, and feeling the babies' movement in two different parts of the stomach.
Feeling a baby (or babies) move inside the womb is one of the most thrilling aspects of pregnancy. "Quickening," or the time at which you first feel your baby, can occur anytime between 18 and 25 weeks but is usually detected earlier in subsequent pregnancies, perhaps as early as 16 weeks.
Large for Gestational Age or Gaining Weight Rapidly
There's no doubt that carrying two babies has a big impact on a woman's body. Not only are moms of twins likely to gain more weight, but their uterus will also stretch and expand to accommodate the extra baby.
Gut Feelings and Hunches
While the other items in this list refer to some kind of visible evidence—exaggerated symptoms, abnormal test results, increased morning sickness and more—we can't disregard the power of a mother's intuition.
