This is a technological driven society where no one can sustain without having a tech knowledge or idea for sustainability and better opportunities.
How are you as a parent treating your kids for doing what he or she seems to be doing perfectly? Do you as a parent keep scolding him or her for practicing a certain skills while you want him or her to be reading?
Reading alone cannot solve the present predicament of the global community, but skills is what people are after as against in the past where certificate is what is driven many things in the global system.
Thus, if your kids know skills of any kind like playing an instrument, good at a particular sport or hobby; you do not as a parent discourage them from doing it, but rather encourage them to teach those skills to others. And give them the needed and necessary support to excel in that area outside the academic learning.
