A Grade 12 learner was shot on the head at Kwazulu-Natal, Pietermaritzburg, Alexandra Road while waiting to get his matric results today morning at around 1am.Unfortunately he died at the scene. The tragedy got the community shock and saddened as the deceased had a bright future to look forward to.
The learner was at the garage waiting to purchase the newspaper to see his results with other community members when a group of five unknown men appeared and started demanding their personal belongings which the deceased refused with his phone, so they decided to shoot him. The police reported that they found the deceased with gunshot wound on the head and on his right arm.
The suspect got into a getaway car and fled the scene. Police Spokesperson Colonel Thembeka Mbele reported that a case of murder is being investigated and that the perpetrators of this crime will be caught with the help of the witnesses and the CCTV footage that has been retrieved from the garage archives.
