(North West woman is now a mom to nine children after giving birth to four this past weekend.)
On Tuesday, the North West health department confirmed that nurses and doctors at Joe Morolong Memorial Hospital successfully delivered quadruplets to a Vryburg-area mother.
According to the department, Lettie Sewedi gave birth to the four babies on Saturday.
“All the quads came out weighing reasonably, as anticipated by the team. Of the four newborns, three are boys (quad 1, 2 and 4) and one is a girl (quad 3)," said North West health MEC Madoda Sambatha.
Sambatha went on to say that all of the boys are being fed, while the girl is being closely monitored for ventilation in the intensive care unit.
Sewedi is now a mother of nine children.
The department expressed the mother's delight and stated that she cannot wait to return home and enjoy life with her new bundles of joy.
