On the evening of February 8th, Jolidee Matongo was hanging out with his friends in a bar when he suddenly collapsed. He was rushed to the nearest hospital but died shortly after. Family and friends are shocked and devastated by this sudden death. Jolidee's girlfriend is still grieving over her loss with their daughter being only 2 months old. The funeral services for Mr. Matonga will be held on Saturday at 12 pm at the family village in Bushenyi district in Uganda In lieu of flowers or gifts please donate to an organization that supports people who have lost loved ones like The Compassionate Friends (https://www.thecompassionatefriends.org/).
Jolidee was a kind and giving person. He will be missed by so many people in his community, but most of all by his family who loved him dearly. The tragedy is that they never got to say goodbye or tell him how much he meant to them. One thing we can do for the Matongo family is remember their son with love and support when we see someone else struggling through difficult times because it's what Jolidee would have wanted us to do. We can also honor Jolidee’s memory by donating money or time to an organization like the American Red Cross which provides disaster relief around the world including providing food, shelter and medical care after Hurricane Harvey hit Texas last year destroying homes, lives and livelihood
