Zim Wanted Chinese Man Arrested In UAE

Since the sanctions were imposed on Zimbabwe by UK, America, the Chinese people saw an opportunity to explore the resources in Zim. Chinese mining companies are making a big fortune in Zimbabwe as they do in other third world countries. Though some Chinese nationals are not there to make money in legal ways, others are there to steal what is vulnerable to be stolen.

"We can confirm that on October 15, 2021, the Zimbabwe Republic Police received a message from the Interpol National Central Bureau, Abu Dhabi, advising on the arrest of Zeng Denghui.

“Now the necessary extradition processes are being effected through the Government systems,” Police national spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said

Zeng and other accomplices Peicong Wang, Liu Cheng, Yu Xian, Long Zhu, Chen Xianfu, and Qiu Jinchang were arrested in Victoria Falls in Zim on December 23, 2018 after they were found in possession of 20,98kg of rhino horns worth around US$1 million.

They remained in prison for 4 months until, they were granted bail instead of remaining in the country, they were helped by a police officer to get to Mozambique. From there they got into a Chinese fishing boat that was sailing to China. The Zim authority alert Interpol which put them on Red Notice for international fugitives.
