Chiefs set to sign a Bafana star during the January transfer window

Kaizer Chiefs have made their intention clear about bolstering their squad again in the upcoming transfer window. As it seems like some of their stars that were brought in during the July-August transfer window haven’t impressed the technical team. Now, the recent reports have revealed that Chiefs have shown interest in getting the services of Sekhukhune United star Yusuf Maart. As he has been regarded as one of the best midfielders in the Premier Soccer League. Hence he has been playing for Bafana Bafana lately, as Hugo Broos has seen his talents and hunger to play for his national team.

It has been an easy journey for Maart as he struggled to get game time with Orlando Pirates; after, he was promoted to the club’s development in 2017. That lead to him leaving Pirates last year and was able to get himself a good deal with Sekhukhune. This is where he’s enjoying his football and he’s a regular player too. Babina Noko took a leap of faith towards the 26-year-old midfielder and it has paid off. By the looks of things, they might cash upon their investments if the move to Chiefs materializes. This follows after reports stating that Stuart Baxter has shown interest in Maart, as he requires attacking midfielder at Naturena. “There is an interest from Kaizer Chiefs in Sekhukhune United’s Yusuf Maart and the player is being monitored by Chiefs. Yusuf could move to Chiefs as early as in January next year if the two clubs (Chiefs and Sekhukhune) could agree on his transfer,” said the source talking to

The only thing that might stand in Amakhosi’s way is the transfer fee, as Maart is still in a contract with Sekhukhune until June 2023. In the past Chiefs have been known for pulling out numerous deals due to buy-out clauses. As they don’t want to spend a lot of money trying to buy a player. Hopefully, when it comes to Maart the negotiations will go well.
