SUSPECTS SOUGHT FOR ARMED ROBBERY AND ATM BOMBING IN STANDERTON
On 29 September, around 2 am a business robbery and ATM bombing occurred at the NET 1 Financial Service offices in Standerton.
According to the statement by W/O Nathi Khanyile, Spokesperson of the Standerton Police, three heavily armed males broke into the offices of the institution and bombed four automatic teller machines using explosives.
An undisclosed amount of money was stolen and they fled the scene with two getaway vehicles, a white BMW and Black JEEP Cherokee.
Both vehicle registrations are unknown at this stage.
According to the statement, the centre is used as a pay point for social grants and loan institutions. The estimated damages exceed 1.5 million. All roles players were summoned to the scene for gathering and collection of evidence. Anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects can contact the Standerton Police at 017 719 1250.
