Will Orlando Pirates survive the wrath of Mamelodi Sundowns today.

Today, Saturday at 15:00, Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates will come head to head at Orlando stadium.

Now with Sundowns raging like wildfires, the question arises whether a lukewarm Orlando Pirates will be able to survive that rage.

Mamelodi Sundowns has never lost a game this season and has never conceded a goal in all of their league games. They are raging war.

Orlando Pirates on the other hand has lost one game, won two and drawn two this season.

Both teams won their last league games. With Sundowns beating TS Galaxy 3-0 and Pirates walloping Chippa United 3-1.

The stats between these two giants of South African football show that Mamelodi Sundowns have upper hand over the Buccaneers.

In 37 games head to head between these two teams, Masandawana have won the total of 17 games and the Buccaneers have won the total of 13 games.

We can't forget the humiliating 6-0 drubbing of Pirates by Sundowns some seasons ago. That was a highest score between the two teams.

The highest score against Masandawana by Pirates was 3-1.

Therefore, taking stats into consideration and also looking at how these two teams have performed now lately, I feel compelled to say that this coming game between these two teams shows that the odds are against Orlando Pirates.

It will be high mountain to climb for Pirates.Although it will be not a walk in a park for Mamelodi Sundowns but they are tipped to win this one.

Coach Manqoba Mngqithi has said that they do respect Pirates but the fact that they know all of Pirates players will make it possible for them to profile Orlando Pirates and be able to deal with it.

He went further to say, when speaking to SowetoLive that both Pirates coach, thus Fadlu Davids and Mandla Ncikazi are very creative coaches that might bring a sense anxiety to the Brazilians but said they will deal that element.

However speaking to Kick-Off three days ago he made a bold statement, saying "Pirates must give us those points".

On the other hand, former Pirates super-sub Andries Sebola has predicted a draw between these two teams.
