There are seven people who reportedly lost their lives when a taxi they were travelling in overturned on Friday evening .
This took place on the R61 between Sueenstown and Tarkastad in Eastern Cape .The tragic accident reportedly took place when the driver of the taxi allegedly tried to overtake other vehicles .
This was confirmed by the Road Traffic Management .It was alleged that the driver of the taxi lost control of the car while he was overtaking leading to the overturn of the taxi .
As a result , three people died on the spot, while four others lost their lives when they had allegedly been admitted to hospital.There were eight passengers who reportedly sustained critical injuries .
The driver of the taxi did not sustain any injuries in the accident . It was however indicated that it was highly likely that the driver could face charges of culpable homicide .
