The Department of Basic Education reintroduced the Basic Education Employment Initiative phase II for stipend earning opportunities, for an estimated period of four months starting from November.
The application for phase II of the Basic Education Employment Initiative opened on Monday, 27 September, and was expected to close at midnight 03 October 2021.
However, applicants have found it difficult to apply online due to network failure and the site's slow connection due to traffic.
On Thursday evening, The Department of Basic Education has announced that the deadline for phase II of the BEEI has been extended to midnight 10 October 2021.
According to the department, they have introduced an alternative avenue for applicants to submit their applications.
For the Basic Education Employment Initiative phase II, it should have been implemented to give new applicants employment opportunities and not to endorse the previously employed phase I.
