The legal representatives of the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) told the Kwazulu-Natal High Court in Pietermaritzburg that the government assigned doctors have found out that the former president Jacob Zuma is finally fit to stand trial.
On the other hand, advocate Wim Trengove told the high court that they had issued subpoenas to different witnesses for Jacob Zuma's medical records.
However, the former president Jacob Zuma's lawyer advocate Dali Mpofu raised an objection to Zuma's medical records being handed over.
He reported that Jacob Zuma failed to appear in court on Tuesday, Zuma has a right to confidentiality and privacy. He also said that his client was not intending to postpone the matter due to his medical condition.
Meanwhile, advocate Muzi Sikhakhane who represents Arthur Fraser and other two correctional services officials from the national prison commissioners said his clients were in court because they wanted to respect the witness summons.
Advocate Sikhakhane said that his clients were very anxious because they were requested to handout documents of someone's heath without even following the legal procedure.
