Orlando Pirates are set to appoint Calvin Johnson as the clubs new first team head coach?

In relation to potentially appointing a new first team head coach it is clear that Orlando Pirates have been going up and down in regards to that particular situation

There has been a lot of names linked with the move to Orlando Pirates to take over from Josef Zinnbauer but they have been nothing but just rumours as they have not had any real substance to them

But then again nobody can quite blame Orlando Pirates for taking time in relation to appointing a new first team coach because if they make a mistake once again this time around they risk falling further behind Mamelodi Sundowns

Because at Mamelodi Sundowns they have coaching stability that is unmatched anywhere in South Africa by any club which is why they keep on winning

As a consequence from 2012 to 2020 Mamelodi Sundowns only had one coach which was Pitso Mosimane while Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs had a combined nine different coaches between them which is simply absolutely staggering

And speaking of Pitso Mosimane one of his former assistants at Al Ahly in Calvin Johnson has been heavily linked with the Orlando Pirates post and has been the most mentioned candidate to take over from Josef Zinnbauer

And now it seems that potential appointment is getting closer as Orlando Pirates are now in talks over the possibility of appointing Calvin Johnson as the club's new first team head coach if sources close to the situation are true and accurate

"Calvin is experienced, he has won things and he now has vast knowledge and understanding of the CAF Champions League, which is a space that the team wants to find itself in. At the moment,"

"Things look very promising but it is very tight negotiations and his salary could be the stumbling block, since he was paid really well at Al Ahly,"
