If there is one thing to agree on, is that the name Shaun Mkhize who is popularly known as "Mamkhize" has been popping on our newsfeed and our Social Media timelines recently for the wrong reasons.
After the cash stunt that Mamkhize and son, Andile Mpisane pulled on the field last week after beating Maritzburg United, when she and Andile were filmed dishing out money on large brown envelopes to players, left many South Africans not so impressed with them.
The whole publicity stunt they pulled created some spectacle and the spotlight has since been on them. Many were left with the biggest questions, where does Mamkhize get all the money he splashed on Royal AM players? While some alleged Mamkhize of having a cash snake.
Democratic Alliance party also had questions that needs answers, but decided to take the legal route instead of having unsolved rhetorical questions.
The DA said they will refer Royal AM's R16 million sponsorship from eThekwini Municipality to the auditor general and the live pitch side payments to the South African Revenue Services (SARS).
According to the news, PSL clubs Golden Arrows FC and Amazulu FC receives R5.2 Million and R3.7 million respectively from the municipality yearly while the brand new Royal AM club have scored themselves R16 million sponsorship.
"Royal AM is affectively a brand new football club in the PSL after Mamkhize bought Bloemfontein Celtic for R50 million to regain entry into the league after a protracted legal dispute which saw the first incarnation of the club not to qualify for promotion", said the DA in a statement.
The DA pointed out, that the R16 million is far in excess to any other PSL clubs and a reeks of wasteful expenditure while people have no access to housing, sanitation and electricity.
Meanwhile it is reported that the PSL prosecutor Nande Becker has confirmed that he is going to charge the Royal AM and his officials for handing out cash on the stadium.
