A white Toyota Hiace taxi transporting school children got involved in an accident with two other vehicles in the vicinity of the Wick and Ireland Street intersection in Verulam, KZN this morning (Monday). Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) members were dispatched to the scene and when they got there it was established that the accident was caused by the white Toyota Hiace taxi, due to brake failure.
The taxi bumped into a white BMW then the BMW crashed into a Silver Toyota Prius. The most fortunate part is that no one from the three vehicles was injured therefore it brings some relief especially to parents whose children were in that taxi. It is so sad that as parents we not the same, some can afford cars to take their kids to school while others can't do the same. It is a known fact that most of these taxis are not road worthy, the worst part is that the taxi drivers drive recklessly regardless of that.
