Police Minister Bheki Cele says there is no proof of terrorism in South Africa.
This comes after a string of killings and attacks across the country.
He says these recent acts are not fit to be regarded as terrorism. But the minister does admit that they purpose concern among communities.
“These things do now not suit the definition. People are living in fear," he said.
"What is occurring is now not terrorism. These killings are not linked."If you requested me if it’s terrorism. No, there is no evidence.”
Cele verified that arrests have been made in tavern shootings that took location in Ekurhuleni, Mamelodi and Pietermaritzburg.
However, no one has been arrested for the Orlando east tavern shooting.
He also says that there may be no proof that all these shootings are linked.
These killings has now becomes a habit in South Africa, last few weeks the shooting took place at Soweto tavern, Pietermaritzburg tavern. I remember there was a post on social media that shows a man talking about a bulletproof.
