#Pray for Israel trending as the iron dome destroy missiles fired into Jerusalem

The Israeli army struck a number of Hamas controlled positions in the Gaza Strip early hours of Sunday in retaliation for a pair of rocket attacks targeting Israel's south just a few hours prior.

On Wednesday, the Israeli military deployed Iron Dome missile defense system batteries in the south due to concerns that Islamic Jihad militants may shoot rockets from Gaza to mark the one-year anniversary of the assassination of the organization’s northern Gaza commander, Baha Abu al-Ata

"IDF fighter jets, helicopters and tanks shelled underground infrastructure and military positions of the Hamas terrorist organization in the Gaza Strip. The attack was carried out in response to rocket fire from the Gaza Strip into Israeli territory," the military said in a statement.

What is the Iron Dome?

Is a mobile all weather air defense system developed by Rafael Advanced Defense Systems and Israel Aerospace Industries. The system is designed to intercept and destroy short range rockets and artillery shells fired from distances of 4 kilometers to 70 kilometers away and whose trajectory would take them to an Israeli populated area.
