"This Is Evil" MK Veterans Angry As Kebby Maphatsoe's Grave Is Destroyed

ANC veterans and members of the Umkhonto Wesizwe Military Veterans Association showed up to assess the damage after the grave of Kebby Maphatsoe was vandalized over the weekend.

In the pictures, the tombstone was completely destroyed leaving the grave bare open. It is not clear who could have vandalized this grave and what were the motive behind it.

Although Umkhonto Wesizwe Military Veterans Association was disbanded as an ANC structure, the members are still very much moving their military battalion forward and looking out for each other.

When Kebby Maphatsoe died last year, MK comrades who were angry that the organisation was disbanded as ANC structure without proper consultations fired gunshots and disrupted ANC comrades who were some of the people who spoke at the funeral including Gwede Mantashe.

Former North West Premier, Supra Mahumapelo was also there to bid farewell to his fellow comrade, he bemoaned how throughout the years Kebby Maphatsoe has been ridiculed by some ANC comrades.

At the time of his death, Kebby Maphatsoe was suing Fikile Mbalula for defamation after transport minister says Maphatsoe was a "thug" and a "criminal".

Many feel it is a shame that ANC comrades were speaking good about Kebby Maphatsoe in his death, while when he was alive, they called him names and applauded for Fikile Mbalula when he disrespected Maphatsoe and MK veterans.

The vandalism of former MKMVA president Kebby Maphatsoe's tombstone is alleged to be politically motivated, and Carl Niehaus one of the MK comrades who went to assess the damage said this is heartbreaking.

It is also the second time Maphatsoe's tombstone is vandalized which is beginning to raise many eyebrows as to what is really happening.

"Members of the Maphatsoe family and MK veterans are now at the graveside of the late President of MKMVA, comrade Kebby Maphatsoe, inspecting the vandalised and desecrated tombstone. This is evil and heartbreaking," he said.
