Baking soda is a reasonable but versatile cleaning agent that can remove odors on furniture effectively. Moistening just a bit of baking soda on your bed can reduce any smells and keep it clean. Begin by stripping the bed and then pertaining the baking soda. You can then vacuum up the baking soda once it has done its job so you are left with a clean, fresh-smelling bed.
And while it's easy to throw your sheets in the wash, when it comes to your mattress, it's not so straightforward.
We are sorry to dissatisfy you but the mattresses you are using every single day are the perfect setting for the proliferation of dirt and bacteria.
Clearing the lines just won't do the cleaning for you, as the dust, dirt, sweat, and other body fluids pass through the sheets and end up in the mattress.
Believe it or not, all you desire to clean the mattress is some baking soda, as it is extremely successful in destroying bacteria
This is how to clean a mattress properly to remove stains and smells quickly. Sanitize yours using baking soda and more clever tricks
Strip the bed: Remove your bed sheets and the mattress cover, putting this in the washer.
Vacuum vigorously: You want to remove any food crumbs, dirt, dead skin cells, debris, dust, and pet hair (yes, we know you let them up there) that’s been building up so use a clean (note the word clean) upholstery attachment to get into any grooves. Vacuum the sides of the mattress, too.
Open the box of baking soda and add 10 to 20 drops of your favorite essential oil. Close the box and give it a good shake to distribute the essential oil and break up any large clumps. Lavender, chamomile, sandalwood, and ylang-ylang are all soothing scents that would be wonderfully calming. And essential oils are naturally antibacterial
Sprinkle the baking soda over the bed, using the entire box. Now it's time for a mattress massage! Rub the baking soda mixture into the bed, which gives your mattress a deep cleaning. Let the baking soda and essential oil work their magic for at least an hour.
When it's time to wash them again, strip the bed and vacuum up the baking soda, along with all of the dust and dirt that has accumulated in the meantime.
