If you have problem with your eyes then carrots can be one of the food you should consider eating regurlary because it contains properties that help to clean the eyes and make them function properly.

Before considering planting carrots at home you must check your soil type. Carrots do well in sandy soil than in loam or clay soil because they are root crops, for that readon they requiredwell drained soil so that the water can pass easily and the root can grow and form carrot underneath thesurface without disturbance from the soil. If you plant it in asoil that is not well drained then it won't grow well as it supposed to.

For carrots to develop long, straight roots they require deep, sandy loam soil that is free of stones. Raised beds provide the ideal growing environment for carrots. Work plenty of compost, sand and wood ash into the top 8 of soil. Wood ash contains soluble potassium which will help grow solid, sweet carrots.

They prefer full sun and well dug, stone free soil. Beds improved with well rotted compost are ideal, though very recently manured beds may cause roots to fork. For best results, follow carrots on from a heavy feeding vegetable such as cabbage. There are many different types of carrot to choose from.

Typically seeds are planted in September or October for a winter harvest. Most southern states are only able to grow carrots during this time period as their summers are too hot for this crop. However, some states in the west coast region are able to plant and harvest later in the year as well.
