Water is very important resource that should be handled carefully. Without water life would cease to exist within weeks. We all depend on water and that is why is very important to make sure we save water always. After doing laundry we tend to pour away the water because we believe that they are now dirty. But that is not the case because we are not using dangerous chemicals to wash the clothes.

This water can be used to irrigatesome if the plants without killing them, however you must be careful when using used water because thesoap you used to wash the clothes might be still strong and it is not recommended towater root crop vegetables like carrots, sweet potatoes, onions and others. Because this water can carry bacteria that can dnd up affecting the production of your vegetables.

Household waste water from washing machines, bathroom sinks, showers and bathtubs is considered gray because it is only lightly soiled and poses a minimal health risk. As long as you are only putting biodegradable products down the drain, graywater is perfectly safe for irrigating plants.

Generally washing machine rinse cycle water and bathroom water are the most suitable sources of greywater for garden watering. If you use low salt, phosphorus free detergents you do not need to restrict the use of washing machine water to the rinse cycle you can use all the laundry water.

Household wash water is much better for plants than no water at all but there are possible problems. If your home does not have a water softener, your bathwater and rinse water from dishes and laundry are all of good quality for irrigation.

If you want to re-use water from your washing machine you will need to disconnect it from the sewage disposal system. Then you can set up a new drainage solution before being able to use the gray water.
