They say don't grow up, it's a trap. All I know is it's so true that we should never compare high school to a tertiary level so I'm not about to do that. There is, however a few similarities between the two levels in our lives. Life in high school was amazing in the sense that we had time for everything we had going on in our lives. It was very rare to have to choose from two things that you equally want to carry out. You could easily say I will just do both and life went on. I for one did sport in high school, I had time to go to netball practice after school, get home and see my friends in time, cook if I had to, and sometimes do my homework and it felt normal. I was a busy person but I didn't perceive it as being busy it was a lifestyle. Teenage lifestyle I would like to refer to it. Not dabbing into the emotional part of it, it was a beautiful experience.
I'm in varsity now and I can't help but make peace with the changed me I got introduced to. It may sound as if I'm complaining but I'm not, I just wish it had taken time so I can enjoy the transition. From the number of the modules to the res life and fitting in and not having the support of your family to bounce back from situations. All of that happening in a frame of 3-5 years.
