Iqbal Sharma the Gupta associate is expected to apply for a bail in Bloemfontein high court.

Iqbal Sharma who is a businessman and Gupta family associates is expected to apply for a bail in the Bloemfontein high court on Friday.

This would happen after Sharma was denied bail by the Bloemfontein magistrates Court on June 8 and took the matter to the high court. Sindisiwe Seboka who is a Investigating Directorate said the bail application was expected to be virtually.

Sherma was found involved in corruption in connection with the R288 million Estinadairy project in the province of Free State.

Sharma was arrested with Peter Thabethe and Dr Limakatso Moorosi who are former heads of the Department of Agriculture and Seipati Dlamini who was then department CFO. Moorosi, Dlamini and Thabethe are out on bail of R10 000 each.

Sharma was not granted bail because he speak foreign languages and he has been dishonest with the court, about his financial Affairs and he travels a lot. He is very rich and he can run out of the country.
