For being homosexual, three men were given death by stoning sentences.
The term "homosexuality" describes the attraction between individuals of the same sex. The word is derived from the Greek homos, which means "the same." In contrast to gender identities like male, female, and non-binary, it is a sexual orientation.
In Ningi, Ningi Local Government Area of Bauchi State, an Islamic Sharia Court has condemned three men, among them a septuagenarian, to death by stoning for homosexuality.
The three convicts, identified as Abdullahi Beti (30), Kamilu Ya'u (20), and Mal. Haruna (70), were apprehended at Gwada village in Ningi LGA while committing the homosexual offense.
However, they admitted culpability to the accusations leveled against them.
Munka'ilu Sabo-Ningi, the trial judge, sentenced the three suspects to death by stoning after hearing witness testimony and admissions of guilt from the defendants.
His decision was supported by the provisions of both Fiquhussunah Jizu'i number 2 at page 362 and Section 134 of the Bauchi State Penal Law of 2001.
