John Hlophe says the order to refer Mafe for mental observation at the hospital was unlawful

The High Court in Cape Town has ordered that alleged Parliament arsonist, Zandile Christmas Mafe, be released from Valkenberg Psychiatric Hospital immediately. Judge President of the High Court, John Hlophe, says the order to refer Mafe for mental observation at the hospital was unlawful and irregular. Mafe will now be transferred to Pollsmoor Correctional Facility where he will be remanded until his bail application which is expected to be heard in the Regional Court on Saturday. However, during proceedings, it emerged that Mafe has contracted COVID-19 while he was detained at Valkenberg and he is currently in isolation ~ SABCNEWS

OPINION

This is only the start of this saga, this Judicial System of ours has hit rock bottom long ago jut imagine from scapegoat to mad house, hunger strike and Covid, now on his way to Polsmoor. Shame I pray this poor man will be okay may the truth set him free, think he should be carefully guarded because there might be some intellegence officials who do not want to see him alive. Let this man out and free him from all charges he is not guilty of anything, he is being used as a scape goat for someone who wants to hide lots of things. South African judicial system is very poor it only favors the richies only, where was security guards when Mafe enters the premises I think South Africa needs to have VAR camera on this

My opinion not that it counts, he is not guilty, and his lawyer says he does not have a mental problem, next we will hear he has died from covid old trick in the books blaming an innocent person. This man's family need to carefully watch every step taken on this man because there is something fishy with this whole story, please Zandile's family fight for your brother's rights
