Take A Look At The Tragic Living Condition Of Inmates In Chikurubi Maximum Prison In Zimbabwe.

It is about time for the government of Zimbabwe to realize that inmates are also human beings who have sentiments and relationships just like any other individual who is now living their lives unrestricted.

Many activists and non-governmental groups have been calling for jail reform in Zimbabwe for a significant amount of time now; yet, the situation continues to deteriorate under the administration of the Zanu-PF party, which is now led by President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

Former convicts and people now serving sentences in Zimbabwe's harshest prisons have expressed dissatisfaction with the institutions' deteriorating conditions in recent years. Everything inside the jail, including the cells, the rest rooms, the food, the shelter, and the clothing, and even the outside of the prison, is in a complete coma.

A image of the maximum security cell chamber at Chikurubi jail started making the rounds on the internet not too long ago, and the current state of affairs in the facility begs on the authorities to take immediate action. Over five hundred prisoners were spotted sleeping in a space that was little bigger than a closet. This is really upsetting, and we have high hopes that President Emmerson Mnangagwa will step up to the plate and take responsibility for ensuring that the living conditions of these detainees are significantly improved.

This information was provided by Kaofela in a message that was published on Twitter, and it reads as follows: If you were to see what the maximum security Chikurubi jail in Zimbabwe looks like, I'm betting you'd think twice about committing a crime.
