Bushiri Fraud Case| Court Denies Accused's Plea For Inquiry Into Delayed Proceedings

The Pretoria Magistrate's Court ruled that there was no undue delay throughout the case regarding self-proclaimed prophet Shepherd Bushiri, his wife, Mary, and their co-accused. This came after the attorneys for Willah Joseph Mudolo and Zethu Mudolo urged the court to perform an investigation into why the proceedings were being delayed and to complete the probe.

On Wednesday, the Mudolos and Lindiwe Ntlokwane stood trial on accusations of fraud, theft, and money laundering in connection with an alleged R102 million scheme in which investors were duped. Last November, Bushiri and his wife were granted bail by the same judge before fleeing to Malawi. They are now in the process of being extradited. On Thursday, Lumka Mahanjana, a spokesman for the Gauteng National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), stated that the State submitted reasons to the court why the issue had been postponed and required additional delay.

The prosecution reminded the court of Willah Mudolo's unwillingness to seek release when the case was originally placed before the court, while his co-accused were requesting bail. Willah later filed a bail application after his co-defendants were granted bail. Mahanjana stated that the State has presented the court with an update on the Bushiris' extradition proceedings. The date of the verdict is still uncertain at this time. The Mudolos' counsel petitioned the court to modify their bail terms. The petition will be reviewed at the Pretoria Magistrate's Court on November 30, 2021.

People should be on the lookout for people like him, in my opinion. Bushiri's case has been ongoing for a long period of time, the remarkable aspect is that despite having a bogus case against him, he is still free to travel. Many of his supporters in South Africa were upset that he was hauled to court for something that they feel he did not commit. Regardless of the accusations, his admirers believe that the world dislikes him because he is a fantastic man. Let us know in the comments what you think about the Bushiri case, and don't forget to share and follow.
