Rape Obscene

One of the zama-zamas who allegedly raped Krugersdorp women is a child. Check how old he is here

Seven alleged illegal miners apprehended during police operations following the gang rape of eight women in Krugersdorp, West Rand, two weeks ago have been charged in relation to the rape. On Tuesday, an identity parade was held. In court, the suspects revealed their ages. One individual informed the court he was 18, while another claimed to be 15 years old. They are charged with many charges of aggravated robbery, aggravated rape, and violation of the Immigration Act. This is incredible! A 15-year-old as a suspect in a rape!

According to the spokesperson for the NPA, Phindi Mjonondwana, there is a prima facie case against all fourteen defendants who are charged with various crimes. These, according to Mjonondwane, include rape, sexual assault, and robbery with aggravating circumstances. "The allegations relate to an incident that occurred while a crew was filming a music video on the West Rand," Mjonondwane said, adding that seven additional suspects are due to appear in the same court on Thursday and face identical charges.

The kid will be transported to a secure location and is scheduled to return to court on Thursday, pending the conclusion of an age evaluation.

The subject has been postponed until September 28 for additional investigation.

Meanwhile, there is a strong feeling that there is more to this gang rape in Krugersdorp. Herman Mashaba, the head of ActionSA, has addressed a letter to the Minister of Police requesting the identify of the production firm for which the rape victims were filming a movie. Mashaba asserts that ActionSA's legal team is conducting its own inquiry. "I find it odd and suspicious that this company's identification appears to be concealed," Mashaba says.

It is unfortunate that the police have only now begun to address the zama zamas issue. In June of last year, in Krugersdorp, Carte Blanche broadcast an episode of the Zama Zamas. They conducted interviews with community members who described how these thugs terrorize the neighborhood and how they have discovered deaths in their backyards. The government and police did nothing. Now, due to community uproar, Minister Bheki Cele and his team are pretending as though they are functioning. We hope this case will not fade away like so many others have.
