Two Gupta associates Iqbai Sharma and Peter Thabethe, the former head of the department of Free State agriculture department. The two is expected in the Bloemfontein today to hear their bail application.
The reports were in the news last weak that Sharma was arrested by the police in connection with the failed R288 million Estina dairy project in Vrede.
Sindisiwe Seboka the spokesperson of the National Prosecuting Authority Investigating Directorate said" the duo was among the 15 accused facing charges related to defrauding agriculture department in the province of Free State".
According to the NPA the funds were placed at the disposal of the Guptas, some of the Gupta assets are seized which includes the luxury properties in Johannesburg and Cape Town.
However , the NPA is still busy with the extradition applications and processes top have the Gupta brothers extradited from the United Arab Emirites to come in to the Republic and answer before the country's criminal justice system. The Republic of South Africa does not have a treaty or bilateral agreement signed with the UAE which might make the process a bit tricky and slow process.
